General Tso’s Chicken Flatbread

Ingredients:

For the General Tso's Chicken:

  • 1 18oz. package of InnovAsian General Tso's Chicken

For the Flatbread:

  • 1 sourdough loaf, cut in half

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

For Assembling: 

  • 8oz. shredded mozzarella

  • 2 scallions, diced

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).

  2. Cook chicken according to package instructions.

  3. Once chicken is cooked, toss with 1/4 cup of the General Tso sauce from package.

  4. Cut chicken into smaller, bite-sized pieces and set aside.

  5. In another bowl, mix together the softened unsalted butter, dried oregano, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.

  6. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the sourdough loaf.

  7. Place the buttered sourdough halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted.

  8. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella onto the flatbread then spoon even amounts of the chicken on top. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top of chicken.

  9. Place flatbread back in the oven until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.

  10. Drizzle flatbread with remaining General Tso's sauce then garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.

  11. Slice the garlic bread into serving portions and serve immediately.
