Homemade Fall Cold Brew
Homemade Fall Cold Brew
Ingredients:
1 cup coarse-ground coffee
4 cups cold water
1 cinnamon stick (or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3-4 whole Cloves
1 whole vanilla bean, sliced open
Maple syrup (or sweetener of choice), to taste
Milk or non-dairy milk (optional), to taste
Ice for serving
Instructions:
In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarse-ground coffee with cold water. Stir to make sure all the grounds are saturated.
Add the cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanilla bean, and cloves to the coffee mixture. These spices will steep along with the coffee, giving it that warm fall flavor.
Cover the jar or pitcher and refrigerate it for 12-24 hours. The longer you steep it, the stronger the cold brew will be.
After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve, coffee filter, or a cheesecloth into a clean jar. Discard the coffee grounds and spices.
If using, stir in the maple syrup for a hint of sweetness and fall flavor.
Fill a glass with ice, pour the cold brew over it, and add milk or non-dairy milk if you like. Adjust sweetness if needed.
Add a dash of ground cinnamon on top or garnish with a cinnamon stick for a decorative touch.
