Ingredients

For the Pigs in a Blanket

  • 8oz Package Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1 Package Hillshire Farms Beef Lit’l Smokies
  • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning
  • 1 Egg

For the Honey Dijonaisse

  • 1/3 cup Mayonaisse
  • 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
  • 4 tbsp Honey

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the crescent rolls on a clean surface. Cut the sheet into thin strips, about 1 inch wide.
  • Place one sausage at the end of each pastry strip. Gently roll the pastry around the sausage until it is fully covered. Repeat this step for all sausages.
  • Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small gap between each one.
  • Brush the tops of the pastry with the beaten egg, ensuring they are evenly coated. This will give the pigs in a blanket a beautiful golden color when baked.
  • Sprinkle the Everything But The Bagel seasoning blend generously over the pigs in a blanket, making sure to cover them completely.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden brown and puffs up.
  • Once baked, remove the pigs in a blanket from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. The aroma of the “Everything But The Bagel” seasoning will be irresistible!
  • To make the Honey Dijonaisse, combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well to combine.
  • Serve your Everything But The Bagel Pigs in a Blanket warm with your Honey Dijonaisse dipping sauce.

Notes

To caramelize your onions, you’ll need to start by thinly slicing a white onion and adding them to a pan on medium-heat with 2 tablespoons of butter and a drizzle of olive oil. Let them simmer, stirring occasionally for about 10-15 minutes. Next add a sprinkle of salt and pepper along with a pinch of sugar. Let that simmer for another 3 minutes. You’ll then add about 2 tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar, stirring to combine. Simmer for another 5 minutes then remove pan from heat.
