Ingredients
  

For the Ground Beef Shawarma

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon optional for brightness

For the Bowls

  • 2 cups cooked rice white, brown, or couscous/quinoa
  • 1 cup cucumber chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 red onion diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill
  • 1/2 cup Crumbled feta optional

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 clove garlic finely grated or minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add ground beef and all the spices. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up as you go. Squeeze in lemon juice and stir well. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Whisk together yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Chill until ready to serve.
  • To build your bowl, start with a base of rice.
  • Top with spiced ground beef, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and herbs.
  • Drizzle generously with garlic yogurt sauce. Top with feta, fresh dill, and enjoy warm!
