About Taylor Jackzen

Hey, I’m Taylor! The face behind the recipes. They say do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life and this sentiment has rang true since I started this blog in 2023. Cooking is a passion of mine and I love sharing delicious food with the people around me. My recipes are simple and approachable - the kind you’ll want to eat on repeat throughout the week or bring to show off at your next gathering.

I got my first taste for food blogging when I launched a local food blog in 2018 while living in St. Petersburg, Florida called St. EATersburg. I blogged primarily about local restaurants and things to do in Tampa Bay, then came along the global pandemic in 2020 which was pretty much the end of St. EATersburg. At the age of 25, I didn’t know how to pivot my business and, frankly, was burnt out from juggling my blog and a full-time job for over two years.

Fast-forward to 2023, I had the itch for blogging again but this time I had more experience as a marketing professional under my belt. I was still working in the corporate world as a Marketing Director but the job wasn’t fulfilling to me. In May of 2023, I was laid off and had a decision to make - apply to more corporate jobs or bet it all on myself. I chose the latter and spent the rest of that year investing in myself. I worked every single day without a break and finally began to see my hard work pay off by the end of that year.

The end of that year also brought a pleasant (and life changing) surprise - I found out I was pregnant! The majority of 2024 was spent focusing on my business and my pregnancy, then in August of that year, Ruby was born. The remainder of that year was then spent raising a newborn while also trying to juggle being a business owner/entrepreneur.

Today, I’m happy to say, I still love what I do! I’m having a blast raising Ruby and having her in my life has helped me find an even deeper appreciation for food. Ultimately, food is life. It fuels us and it brings us together. I look forward to cooking a meal for my family, then sitting around the table and enjoying each others company.

To follow my life as a new mama, I encourage you to follow me on Instagram - you’ll also see more of me here, as I share my recipes in video form. Not on Instagram? You can also find me on YouTube, Pinterest, and TikTok!
