Dill Pickle Pizza

Course: Lunch, Dinner

Ingredients:

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup sliced dill pickles

  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped (for garnish)

  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified for your pizza dough (usually around 450°F or 230°C).

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. You can make one large pizza or divide the dough to make smaller individual-sized pizzas.

  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until it's fragrant but not browned.

  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low.

  6. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese while continuously stirring. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens and the cheese is fully melted.

  7. Season the sauce with salt, and black pepper. Stir well and remove it from the heat.

  8. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. Spread the white sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.

  10. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

  11. Arrange the sliced dill pickles over the cheese.

  12. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown, and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  13. Remove the pickle pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute or two.

  14. Garnish with freshly chopped dill and, if you like it spicy, some crushed red pepper flakes.

  15. Slice your pickle pizza and serve it hot.
