The Ultimate Crabby Melt

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (I use Sour Dough)

  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat

  • 1 tablespoon Mayonaisse

  • 1 tablespoon sour cream

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (I use Cholula)

  • 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, and Old Bay

  • 1 cup white cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, hot sauce, 2 tablespoons of cheese, Old Bay, salt, and pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined.

  2. Place the bread slices on a clean workspace and layer one piece of bread with half of the remaining cheese, top with the crab mixture, spreading it out to ensure it covers the entire surface.

  3. Top each crab-covered slice with remaining cheese.

  4. Heat butter a large skillet over medium-heat then once melted, add your prepared sandwich to the skillet.

  5. Grill until the bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 4 minutes on both sides.

  6. Cut the sandwiches in half or quarters, and serve!
