Course: Appetizer, Snack, Lunch, Dinner
Ingredients:
1 French loaf
1 cup store-bought marinara sauce
1 cup frozen meatballs, thawed and sliced into quarters
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the French loaf in half lengthwise to create two halves.
Place both halves of the French loaf on a baking sheet or a large ovenproof tray.
Spread the marinara sauce evenly over each half, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
Sprinkle the dried oregano, dried basil, and garlic powder evenly over the marinara sauce. Add red pepper flakes if you like some heat.
Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
Arrange the sliced meatballs evenly on top of the cheese.
Sprinkle another layer of mozzarella cheese over the meatballs.
Finish with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
Place the baking sheet or tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the French loaf are golden brown.
Remove the Meatball Sub Pizza from the oven and use a sharp knife to slice the Meatball Sub Pizza into individual servings. Serve it hot and enjoy!
