Air-Fried Chicken Parmesan
Air-Fried Chicken Parmesan
Course: Lunch, Dinner
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
4 chicken cutlets (about 1 lb)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cooking spray
For Assembling:
2 cups marinara sauce
1 8oz. mozzarella cheese ball, sliced thin
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Cooked spaghetti or pasta of your choice (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper.
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat evenly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Place the breaded chicken cutlets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Once the chicken cutlets are cooked spoon marinara sauce over each chicken cutlet, covering them evenly.
Layer 1-2 pieces of mozzarella cheese over the top of each chicken cutlet.
Place back into the air-fryer at 400°F (204°C) and cook for 2-3 more minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish the air fried chicken parmesan with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
Serve hot over cooked spaghetti or your favorite pasta, if desired.
