Steak and Shrimp Hibachi
Ingredients:
For the Steak and Shrimp:
1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
For the Fried Rice:
2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old rice works best)
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
½ cup frozen peas and carrots
2 green onions, chopped
2 eggs, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Hibachi Vegetables:
1 zucchini, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
½ onion, sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp sesame oil
For the Yum Yum Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp water
½ tsp sugar
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk together all the yum yum sauce ingredients until smooth.
Cover and refrigerate while preparing the rest of the dish.
Heat 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the minced garlic, peas, and carrots. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Push the veggies to one side of the pan and add the beaten eggs. Scramble until fully cooked.
Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, and remaining butter. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Toss in the green onions, mix, and remove from heat.
Heat butter and sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the zucchini, mushrooms, and onions.
Sprinkle with garlic powder and soy sauce, then sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender. Remove from heat.
Heat sesame oil in a skillet or wok over high heat.
Add the steak cubes, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Sear for 2-3 minutes, then add shrimp, garlic, butter, and soy sauce. Cook another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until the shrimp is cooked through.
Divide the fried rice between plates.
Add the hibachi vegetables on one side and the steak and shrimp on the other.
Drizzle with yum yum sauce and garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds.
